Case Theory Investigations — Facts Shape Strategy. Investigative intelligence for litigation, Albuquerque NM

Based downtown, minutes from the courthouses

Case Theory Investigations works throughout the Albuquerque metro and, by arrangement, across New Mexico.

Downtown Albuquerque

The office sits in Downtown Albuquerque, close to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, the Second Judicial District Court and the Pete V. Domenici United States Courthouse. For firms in the downtown legal corridor that means a same-day file drop, a meeting between settings, or an investigator who can be at the courthouse in minutes rather than hours.

Which areas are covered as standard?

The following areas are covered as standard, with no travel charge:

  • Albuquerque, including the North Valley, South Valley, Northeast Heights, West Side and Downtown
  • Rio Rancho and Corrales
  • Bernalillo County and Sandoval County
  • Valencia County, including Los Lunas, Belen and Bosque Farms
  • Tijeras, Edgewood and the East Mountains

Do you travel outside the Albuquerque metro?

Assignments in Santa Fe, Torrance County, Socorro, Grants, Gallup, Las Vegas and further afield are accepted by arrangement. Travel time outside the regular service area is billed separately and quoted before the assignment begins, so the cost is agreed rather than discovered on the invoice. Where a matter calls for repeat trips to a distant location, we will say so at intake and, if there is a more economical way to get the same result, suggest it.

Regular court appearances

Regular appearances include the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, the Second Judicial District Court, the Thirteenth Judicial District Court in Sandoval and Valencia counties, and federal court in Albuquerque. Testimony and standby are scheduled around court calendars, with short-notice appearances accommodated where possible.

How quickly can field work be scheduled?

Inside Bernalillo County, field work can usually be scheduled the same day or the next, and a downtown file drop can be collected within the hour. Rio Rancho, Corrales and the Los Lunas corridor are typically next-day. Santa Fe and the East Mountains are scheduled a day or two out so the trip can be planned around a full block of work rather than a single interview.

That matters more than it sounds. A witness who agrees to talk on Tuesday frequently changes their mind by Friday, and security footage recorded on the first of the month may be gone by the first of the next. Where a matter is time sensitive, say so at the intake call and the sequence will be built around what perishes first.

Working the South Valley and the rural counties

Addresses in the South Valley, the unincorporated stretches of Bernalillo County, and the smaller communities of Valencia and Torrance counties often do not resolve cleanly in commercial databases. Rural route addresses, shared parcels and households that move between family properties all defeat a simple database search. Those locates take field verification rather than a report printout, and they are a routine part of the work here rather than an exception.

Can an out-of-state firm retain you for a New Mexico matter?

Firms outside New Mexico regularly retain local investigators for matters venued here. Files transfer electronically, updates come by phone or email, and the written report is delivered in a format your office can file directly. Being local is precisely the point: witnesses in the South Valley are not interviewed effectively from another time zone.

A short intake call is enough to know whether an investigation will move your case — and what it would take to get there before your next court date.
